Student of the Season, Fall 2010: Daniel Charrier

Daniel is in his 9th year of dancing. He started at Dunleavy Shaffer about 5 years ago and has been on an upward climb ever since! In fall of 2009, he attained the highest level of competition, Open Championships. Shortly thereafter he placed 4th at the New England Oireachtas, which qualified him to compete at the World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland in April 2010. Later this year he made his second trip to the North American Championships, where he finished 9th and qualified to compete at the World Championships 2011! Aside from Irish dancing, Daniel also plays soccer, basketball, baseball and participates in theatre performances. He is a freshman at Scituate High School, and has made both his parents and Suzanne and Theresa very proud! Keep it up Daniel!

Student of the Season, Fall 2009: Mary Ginns

Mary started Irish step dancing lessons at age 5 with her best friend, Carlie. Mary now competes in the very accomplished "Preliminary Championships," and also finished 23rd at the 2008 New England Regional Championships, thereby qualifying to dance at the North American Irish Dance Championships in 2009. In February 2009, Mary traveled to Killarney, Ireland, to compete in the All Ireland Championships, where she finished 68th out of over 100 of the best dancers in the world in her agegroup.

Mary has had an amazing year, but even before this year she has been a lovely student to work with and we are very proud of her. Mary now continues to dance while at Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland. We hope to see you again soon Mary! Love, Theresa & Suzanne
